Landscapes can provide different ecosystem services due to their characteristics and quality. These are impaired by anthropogenic influences such as noise. Geodata-based indicators provide the basis for long-term monitoring of such functions. Using the example of the indicator of quiet areas for the Federal Republic of Germany, it is shown how this can be used to contribute to the safeguarding and development of selected ecosystem services in the future.
