Holographic Construction of Generative Landscape Design Using Augmented Reality Technology

The Augmented Landscapes project is a workshop exploring the making of landscape solely with 3d models and AR devices without any processed drawings. The workshop promoted generative landscape design by inserting landscape elements by utilizing a multi-agent system based on the Boids algorithm. Microsoft HoloLens with the Fologram plugin allowed for a direct and real-time connection between Rhino and HoloLens. This paper documents the process, methods, and findings of the workshop with the holographic construction experience through AR technology.
